Nanya Technology Shares Hit Record High as Foreign Investors and Domestic Institutions Both Add to Memory Stocks

Aug 27, 2026

Taiwan's stock market closed modestly higher on the back of Nvidia's earnings, with funds shifting noticeably into the memory and passive component groups — good news for holders of those stocks.

  • Nanya Technology saw combined net buying of more than 30,000 lots from foreign investors and domestic institutional investors, hitting an all-time high during the session and closing up sharply by NT$24.
  • Winbond likewise drew net buying of more than 30,000 lots from foreign investors, while Macronix and Phison also advanced, with the memory group strengthening across the board.
  • At the same time, funds flowed out of UMC and Compal. UMC plunged more than 4% on heavy volume, breaking below all of its short-term moving averages.
  • MLCC inventories continued to hit new lows while prices rose, and the passive component group warmed up in tandem, with Holy Stone Enterprise and Chilisin Electronics both limit-up.
  • Largan Precision hit the limit up for a second straight day to set a new high, gaining more than 30% in three days and becoming the third-highest-priced stock on the Taiwan market.

Outlook: The rotation of funds into memory and the AI supply chain is likely to continue, but gains are concentrated in a handful of individual stocks, and the index still lacks strong upward momentum.
