Taiwan's biggest reservoir is completely full after a week of heavy rain, good news for southern farms and cities that have faced water shortages.

• The Zengwen Reservoir catchment took in more than 200 million cubic meters of water since August 19, more than an entire Shimen Reservoir's worth.
• The reservoir hit 100% full on August 24, forcing operators to start releasing water.
• More than 86 million cubic meters have been let out, and it is still full.
• Gates and a desilting tunnel were opened to clear sediment and make room for rain from the approaching storm Sadel.
• Zengwen and Wushantou together now hold about 550 million cubic meters of usable water.

Outlook: Controlled releases will continue while the storm passes, and people near downstream rivers are being told to stay away from the banks.
