• The nephew could not afford to move out, so he went to police and got a temporary protection order in April barring abuse and harassment.
• Days after police warned him about the order, the man went out drinking and then stood outside near midnight singing loudly and non-stop so the family could not sleep.
• The court ruled the singing counted as harassment because it destroyed the family's peace at home, and said he showed little respect for the law.
