New Taipei asset auction on September 1 features Porsche, BMW and a 300-ping shopping mall

Taiwan's New Taipei enforcement office is auctioning seized luxury cars, bank shares and property on September 1, an opening for bargain hunters and a sign of how much crime-linked wealth is being clawed back.

  • Two performance cars seized in an organized-crime case go under the hammer: a 2018 BMW 320i sedan and a 2014 Porsche Cayman GTS with low mileage.
  • Physical share certificates in two local banks, Sunny Bank and Bank of Panhsin, are also up for sale that morning.
  • The headline property is a rare 339-ping underground mall in Tucheng, currently rented to a chain store, starting at NT$78 million.
  • Cheaper homes are on offer too, including a 50-year-old ground-floor apartment in Zhonghe on its third auction round at about NT$8.2 million.
  • Land parcels across Banqiao, Shulin, Zhonghe and Tucheng go up for bid the same day.

Outlook: Repeat listings at cut starting prices suggest buyers can keep waiting for further discounts on the slower-moving lots.
