New Taipei City is accelerating upgrades to basic infrastructure in Yonghe District, welcome news for local residents and students.

• Mayor Hou Yu-ih led the city government team to Yonghe for a mobile governance visit and attended the opening ceremony for the Yongping Elementary School track.
• The new track is Taiwan's first three-dimensional co-construction project combining a school track, an underground parking garage, and a station of the MRT Wanda-Zhonghe Line, addressing both exercise space and parking needs at once.
• Yonghe is the most densely populated administrative district in New Taipei City, and its scarcity of land makes multi-purpose co-construction of this kind a necessity.
• After renovation, the Kawabata Bridge beside Zhongzheng Bridge will become a pedestrian scenic bridge and bicycle path linking Taipei and New Taipei City, connecting the Yang San-lang Art Museum and Kishu An and creating a riverside arts and culture corridor.
• The second unit of the Dachen Community urban renewal project has been completed and residents have moved in; it is the largest government-run urban renewal flagship project in Taiwan.

Outlook: The MRT Wanda-Zhonghe Line is expected to open at the end of 2027, and Yonghe's urban renewal and riverside corridor projects will continue to move forward.
