A morning fire tore through a converted metal-sheet home in Hsinchu City, but everyone inside got out safely — a good outcome in a type of building known to be risky.

• Fire broke out just after 7am in a three-story tin-roofed house on Dadong Road, and was out by 8am.
• Two people were reported trapped on the second floor before crews reached them.
• Firefighters sent 13 vehicles and 29 personnel, and guided three residents out; a fourth had already left for work.
• The flames were under control within about 20 minutes of the first crews arriving, with no one left inside.

Outlook: Fire officials are still investigating what started the blaze.
