In line with the amended Local Government Act, the Taitung County Government is establishing two deputy magistrate positions for the first time, a personnel arrangement that offers stability and continuity in the county government's operations.

• County Magistrate Rao Ching-ling announced that Civil Affairs Department Director Lin Hung-yi will be promoted to the second deputy magistrate post, taking office on September 1.
• Lin Hung-yi comes from a local background, having served successively as secretary of the Taimali Township Office, secretary of the county council, and director of the county government's Administration Department and Civil Affairs Department.
• He will share duties with Deputy Magistrate Wang Chih-hui in helping to coordinate the various bureaus and departments, and will be responsible for communication with the central government, the county council, township and city offices, and civic groups.
• The resulting vacancy for Civil Affairs Department director will be filled by Deputy Director Ou Fei-chun, who has a full record of experience in both social affairs and civil affairs.

Outlook: After the new appointments take effect on September 1, the county government is expected to maintain its existing policy direction, with an emphasis on cross-departmental coordination and external communication.
