New Taipei's Banqiao Land Office Holds Digital Counter Quiz Contest as Online Survey Applications Expand
Handling land administration business has become more convenient: the Ministry of the Interior has substantially expanded the range of survey items that can be applied for online, which is good news for members of the public seeking land subdivision or consolidation.
- The Banqiao Land Office is holding a prize quiz from August 26 to September 9. Anyone who answers all questions correctly can enter a draw, with 30 winners to receive small gifts.
- Starting in July, the Ministry of the Interior expanded the range of survey cases that can be applied for online, adding seven items that can be handled entirely online: land subdivision, land consolidation, building subdivision, building consolidation, boundary adjustment, terrain adjustment and land location inspection.
- As long as applicants have a Citizen Digital Certificate or a business certificate, electronic copies of the required documents and a completed electronic signature, the entire process can be completed online without making a trip in person.
- Three further services allow documents to be submitted online first: building lot numbers, building door plate numbers and land location inspection. Applicants need only mail to the land office those paper documents that cannot be electronically signed.
- Note that the six items handled entirely online — subdivision, consolidation, boundary adjustment and terrain adjustment for both land and buildings — are limited to cases with a single owner and no other encumbrances.
Outlook: As the number of items available online continues to grow, trips to the land office will become less and less frequent.
