Three local governments in northern Taiwan are deepening ties, with a rare indigenous ceremony as the centerpiece — a positive sign for regional cooperation and for Saisiyat cultural visibility.

• Miaoli County hosted the joint summit it runs with Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City, the Hsinchu Science Park and the science park industry association.
• Miaoli proposed inviting all three local leaders to the Saisiyat people's Pas-ta'ai festival, which this year is the once-a-decade grand ceremony.
• The date is still up to the tribal council but falls near the year-end local elections, with leaders set for a guided visit, a talk with the chief ritual leader, and dancing at the ceremonial ground.
• Miaoli's leader Chung Tung-chin pushed for respect for indigenous culture and told his staff to coordinate with both Hsinchu governments.
• Hsinchu City's Kao Hung-an pointed to other joint efforts already running: singles mixers for civil servants and park engineers, a Miaoli local currency push, product fairs, and linked family centers across the three areas.

Outlook: The tribal council will set the festival date, and the three governments are expected to keep stacking joint programs across the Hsinchu-Miaoli living area.
