Maui County to host passport application fair in Lahaina
West Maui residents can get free in-person help applying for a U.S. passport this Friday, a small win for a community still rebuilding after the Lahaina fire.
- Maui County's Immigrant Services is running a passport application fair from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- It takes place at the Maui Family YMCA West Side Resource Center.
- The goal is to bring county services closer to people on the west side instead of making them travel.
- In separate news, a fifth Hawaiian monk seal death on Oahu this year is now under investigation.
Outlook: Expect more county services to be brought directly into West Maui as the area continues its recovery.
