Fire at a home in Yunlin's Lunbei Township leaves two without vital signs
A house fire in rural Yunlin County, Taiwan killed or critically injured two people early Tuesday morning, in a small township where emergency response is stretched across several districts.
- Firefighters pulled three people from a burning single-story house on Minzhu Road in Lunbei after a dawn call reporting heavy smoke.
- A woman in her fifties and a man in his sixties were found without vital signs and rushed to hospital; the woman's heartbeat was restored during resuscitation.
- A 90-year-old woman was rescued with minor injuries and was conscious.
- Crews from five local stations were sent in, and the fire burned through about 50 square meters before it was put out.
Outlook: Investigators are still working out what started the fire, and local government social services have been brought in to help the household.
