An elderly woman wearing a safety helmet was found floating in a pond in Kaohsiung's Dashu District this morning. She showed no vital signs when she was pulled from the water, and after her family confirmed her identity, prosecutors were asked to conduct an autopsy examination.

• The deceased had no external injuries and was not carrying identification. Police reviewed surveillance footage and canvassed the surrounding area, confirming that she was an 82-year-old woman surnamed Chen.
• The woman had gone out the previous evening and had not returned. It is believed she may have accidentally fallen into the pond while riding a scooter.
