A man who drank too much collapsed on a Taipei sidewalk with his head sticking out into traffic, and quick thinking by a passerby likely saved his life.

• Half his body was lying out in the roadway, leaving him in danger of being run over by any passing car.
• A taxi passenger spotted him and called police, who woke him, checked his ID, and put him in a cab home.
• Footage of the scene was later posted online by a taxi driver, drawing attention to how close the man came to being hit.
