A car chase through New Taipei's Xinzhuang district ended in a crash and left several innocent drivers with damaged vehicles.

• Blocked by traffic, the driver went up onto a sidewalk to turn around, then drove the wrong way down a main road.
• The car sideswiped several other vehicles before losing control and crashing at an intersection.
• Both men inside abandoned the car and ran off on foot; officers drew their weapons on arrival.
• No drugs or illegal items were found in the car, and the passenger turned himself in this morning.

Outlook: Police have identified the driver and plan to bring him in, with charges expected for dangerous driving and fleeing the scene.
