Driver flees police check in New Taipei, crashes after driving onto sidewalk and into oncoming traffic
A car chase through New Taipei's Xinzhuang district ended in a crash and left several innocent drivers with damaged vehicles.

- Blocked by traffic, the driver went up onto a sidewalk to turn around, then drove the wrong way down a main road.
- The car sideswiped several other vehicles before losing control and crashing at an intersection.
- Both men inside abandoned the car and ran off on foot; officers drew their weapons on arrival.
- No drugs or illegal items were found in the car, and the passenger turned himself in this morning.
