A truck driver kept going for 3 kilometers after his tires blew out on the Linkou stretch of National Freeway 1, leaving tire shreds and parts across the road and damaging two cars — dangerous for everyone behind him.

• Two left front tires blew out, but the 43-year-old driver kept going for almost 3 kilometers before pulling onto the shoulder.
• Tire shreds, a wheel rim, brake parts and undercarriage pieces were left scattered along the highway.
• One car was damaged driving over the debris; another had a flying part hit its windshield, which almost went through into the cabin.
• No one was hurt, and all three drivers tested clean for alcohol.
• The driver said he did not realize he was still driving after the blowout — police are not buying it and plan to charge and fine him.
