Water shutoff in Taoyuan's Luzhu and Dayuan districts on the 26th

Aug 24, 2026

More than 3,000 households in Taoyuan will lose water for 15 hours as pipes are moved for the Aerotropolis construction project — disruptive but planned and short.

  • Water will be cut from 9am to midnight on the 26th in six neighborhoods across Luzhu and Dayuan.
  • The shutoff is needed because new drainage boxes and collector pipes for the airport city project clash with existing water lines.
  • Affected areas include Zhongyou Street in Luzhu and five Dayuan neighborhoods, including Sanshi, Wuquan and Puxin.
  • Residents are told to store water six hours ahead, and to switch off water pumps so motors do not overheat or catch fire.
  • Homes with inlets below ground level should close the valve before the meter to avoid dirty water being sucked back in.

Outlook: Supply should return by midnight, with a free 24-hour hotline for anyone still without water afterward.
