The New Taipei mayoral race has turned to bus routes, and the exchange between the two candidates is good news for commuters, because it has pushed the problem of managing cross-city bus services into the open.

• Kuomintang candidate Li Si-chun wrongly said that bus 307 travels on the national freeway; the next day he admitted he had misremembered and rode the route himself to "catch up on his homework."
• Route 307 runs from Banqiao to Fuyuan Street in Taipei. The route falls under Taipei City's jurisdiction, and adjusting the stops of a cross-city bus requires the approval of Taipei City's Department of Transportation.
• Li Si-chun argues for joint governance of the two cities, with unified dispatching through the Keelung-Taipei-New Taipei-Taoyuan platform, to reduce the problems caused by each city administering its own section.
• Democratic Progressive Party candidate Su Chiao-hui did not press the attack, saying there are so many routes that it is perfectly normal for someone who does not ride them often to be unable to remember them, and adding that she often took the 307 in high school.
• Su Chiao-hui pledged that, if elected, she would carry out a comprehensive review of New Taipei's transport system and bus network, and would also incorporate buses into her tourism platform, linking up hiking trails, old streets and tourist areas.
