Cracks have appeared in the blue-white cooperation in Taipei, with the TPP's grassroots unhappy at being sidelined by the KMT. Ko Wen-je has turned his fire on DPP candidate Puma Shen — bad news for the TPP's bargaining position.

• Chiang Wan-an attends only joint rallies and does not campaign separately for the TPP's city council candidates; the party's junior hopefuls see this as being thrown scraps.
• Ko Wen-je said the problem lies with the DPP fielding a candidate as weak as Puma Shen, leaving Chiang Wan-an under no pressure to do more.
• DPP councillor Chien Shu-pei shot back that the real reason is that the TPP's support has fallen to just 6%, and that Huang Kuo-chang has turned the party into the KMT's little brother.
• The KMT, for its part, said it does not dare to underestimate Puma Shen, since he has the entire DPP and the resources of the central government behind him.
• At the same time, the blue camp urged Puma Shen to spend less time travelling to the United States and Japan and more time working the grassroots.

Outlook: Whether the blue and white camps can agree on vote allocation will decide the Taipei city council race, while the TPP's weight within the partnership continues to slide.
