A Hsinchu City Government public information leaflet has been criticised as out of step with the current situation — bad news for Mayor Ann Kao, and another disappointment for fans waiting for professional baseball to return.

• The three-fold leaflet, placed in the city hall lobby and at district offices, carries a large number of posed photographs of Ann Kao, drawing criticism that they have nothing to do with information relevant to residents' daily lives.
• The leaflet states that "games have returned to the municipal baseball stadium," but the stadium improvement works have yet to pass final inspection.
• The former Lung-Lai (Dragon) baseball team terminated its contract with the city government long ago, and to date no team has taken over the Hsinchu stadium.
• City councillors Yang Ling-yi and Liu Yen-ling criticised the content as self-deception that could mislead residents, and said the city government's poor efficiency had led to central government subsidies being clawed back or reduced.
• The city government responded that the stadium will enter completion inspection at the end of August, that a city baseball team has been formed, and that the venue is expected to open and host games in the fourth quarter.
