Changhua County is putting 20 unclaimed land parcels up for public auction, an opening for buyers willing to take on messy titles.

• Bidding opens now and closes November 18, with parcels ranging from a small farm plot starting near NT$565,000 to a Shetou residential lot priced above NT$37 million.
• The Shetou plot is the priciest of the batch — a full-title site of about 223 ping inside the urban planning zone, working out to roughly NT$168,000 per ping.
• These are all properties with broken paperwork: unclear owners, missing records, or inheritance never filed, so the county sells them on behalf of no one.
• Everything sells as-is, and winners handle any squatters, structures, or existing use themselves — the county will not step in.
• Another 3,286 land parcels and 113 buildings in the county still have overdue inheritance filings, worth an estimated NT$3.2 billion, and will head to national auction if heirs keep ignoring them.

Outlook: Expect cheap entry prices to keep drawing bargain hunters, with the real cost showing up later in legal cleanup.
