Car crashes into utility pole in Linkou, four hurt
A car slammed into a roadside utility pole in New Taipei's Linkou District, injuring everyone inside, though none of the injuries are life-threatening.
- The car lost control for reasons not yet known and hit the pole hard enough to crush the front end.
- The male driver had both legs pinned in the wreck and firefighters had to cut him free.
- All four people on board — three men and one woman — were awake and alert, and were taken to Linkou Chang Gung Hospital.
- Police are still checking whether drinking or speeding played a part.
Outlook: The injured are expected to recover, and the cause should become clearer once the police investigation wraps up.
