Two Yunlin lawmakers spent the day pushing local farm products, good news for the county's farmers and rice growers ahead of a county magistrate race.

• Liu Chien-kuo joined a livestock and poultry fair promoting Yunlin meat and eggs, with hands-on activities linking farms to the dinner table.
• New milk labeling rules took effect in July: only products with the domestic certification mark can be sold as fresh milk.
• Chang Chia-chun praised Xiluo rice at the town farmers' association new-rice launch, where the association sells 14,000 tonnes a year worth NT$550 million.
• Chang, running for Yunlin magistrate, promised to back farmers and help market local produce to raise farm incomes if she wins.

Outlook: Farm products look set to stay a central campaign issue in Yunlin as the magistrate race heats up.
