Kaohsiung footbridge linking Chengcing Lake and Golf Green Park to open in October

Aug 21, 2026

A new walkway over a busy road in Kaohsiung will let people move between two big parks without dodging traffic — good news for local walkers and nearby neighborhoods.

  • The bridge crosses Songyi Road, which separates Golf Green Park from the Chengcing Lake area and carries heavy traffic.
  • Work started in January, the main structure is already up, and completion is set for October.
  • The span runs about 180 metres and cost roughly NT$88.8 million, part of a wider plan to add green space in Niaosong district.
  • Once open, people can walk freely between the parks without waiting at lights or crossing traffic.
  • Nearby Shuanghu Park was upgraded earlier this year, so the three parks together are drawing bigger crowds.

Outlook: The bridge should open in October, tying three parks into one continuous green walking area.
