Taiwan puts four stocks under trading curbs from Aug 24

Aug 21, 2026

Taiwan's exchanges are clamping down on a handful of volatile stocks, a warning sign for traders chasing recent price swings.

  • Four stocks — Visual Photonics (全新), Yangtze (陽程), Century (世紀) and Mercuries (美而快) — go under trading curbs from Monday the 24th through the 28th.
  • During those five sessions, trades are matched by hand only once every two minutes instead of continuously.
  • Another 45 stocks were flagged for unusual trading, including shipping name Wan Hai and bike maker Merida.
  • The over-the-counter market drew the bulk of the warnings, with 30 flagged names against 15 on the main board.

Outlook: The curbs usually cool speculative buying, so expect thinner volume and sharper price swings in the flagged names over the coming week.
