Li Si-chuan visits KMT legislative caucus, rallying cry: "Fight together, win together"

Aug 21, 2026

KMT New Taipei mayoral candidate Li Si-chuan joined the party's legislative caucus at the Legislative Yuan, projecting an image of pre-election unity — a positive signal for the KMT.

  • Li joined caucus whip Fu Kun-chi and KMT lawmakers in chanting "Fight together, win together," and the mood was enthusiastic.
  • He said that over the past five months he has covered all 29 districts of New Taipei, and that his biggest gain was losing five kilograms; he also asked the legislators to endorse his policy platform.
  • Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Ko Chih-en urged him to visit Kaohsiung more often and build a "north-south alliance," rather than only campaigning alongside Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an.
  • Taoyuan legislator Niu Hsu-ting proposed expanding the Taipei–New Taipei–Keelung living circle to include Taoyuan, promoting cross-municipal cooperation.
  • Ko Chih-en also singled out the Act Governing the Allocation of Government Revenues and Expenditures, hoping the Legislative Yuan would work together to protect Kaohsiung's local revenue sources.

Outlook: The KMT may next seek to extend Li Si-chuan's popularity into Kaohsiung and Taoyuan, weaving it into a cross-regional campaign theme.
