A former Air Force lawyer based in Kailua will spend 20 years behind bars after trying to arrange a meeting with someone he believed was a 14-year-old girl.

• Ross Brown was convicted in February of trying to sexually entice a child.
• The "girl" was actually an undercover officer using the name Izzy.
• Brown defended himself at trial and admitted sending 6,000 messages to minors, calling himself a compulsive chatter.
• He was also ordered to pay $115,000 to victims.

Outlook: With sentencing done, the case now moves to any appeal Brown chooses to file.
