Jhubei Mayor Cheng Chao-fang pushes to extend the "Jhubei experience" to all 13 townships in Hsinchu County
Cheng Chao-fang, the Democratic Progressive Party's candidate for Hsinchu County magistrate, is running on his record, arguing that Jhubei's development model should be replicated across the county — a positive signal for residents of other townships, and one that shifts the campaign's central theme toward local governance performance.
- With 99 days to go before the vote, Cheng released a campaign video built around the message "If Jhubei can do it, Hsinchu County can too."
- He singled out several specific proposals: a sea-view platform on the Sinfong coast, a park in Guanxi combined with underground parking, forest libraries in Jianshih and Wufong, and pickleball courts in Cyonglin and Baoshan.
- His argument is that Jhubei's renovations of parks, markets and public spaces in recent years have already drawn residents from Hukou, Sinfong and Jhudong to come and use them, so the spillover effect is already under way.
- He stressed that policy platforms cannot be mere slogans, and that what he has delivered over more than three years in office is the most persuasive evidence.
Outlook: The Hsinchu County magistrate race will be fought over records on local development, and other candidates are expected to be forced to answer by the same standard.
