Foxconn is pouring more money into building AI servers inside the United States, a positive sign for US manufacturing jobs and for the AI hardware boom.

  • Foxconn is putting another $188 million into Q-Edge, its wholly owned US manufacturing arm.
  • The cash comes from Foxconn's own funds and is meant as a long-term investment, lifting total money put into Q-Edge to about $226 million.
  • Q-Edge builds computer hardware in Indiana and Houston, and has been adding capacity for AI servers and high-powered computing.
  • Foxconn plans to raise its overall spending on new plants and equipment by more than 30% this year, mostly for AI server racks, liquid cooling and testing.
  • The push is about making machines closer to the customers who buy them, as demand for AI servers keeps climbing.

Outlook: Expect more US factory spending from Foxconn as AI server orders grow.
