A brush fire broke out on Kauai's north shore, but so far no one has been hurt and no buildings have burned.

• The fire started early afternoon near Nalu and Anahulu roads in Wainiha.
• Crews are still working the blaze, with a county helicopter dropping water from the air.
• No damage to nearby homes or other buildings has been reported.
• No injuries have been reported either, and police are on scene.

Outlook: Crews should have it contained soon, though nearby residents may face road closures and smoke in the meantime.
