A police officer in Chiayi County, Taiwan is out on bail after allegedly writing fake traffic tickets in the names of his own family and friends to pad his enforcement numbers.

• He allegedly paid the fines himself so the fake tickets would go unnoticed.
• The suspected motive was hitting traffic enforcement performance targets.
• Prosecutors searched the police station and his home, and questioned six people including his wife, sister and friends.
• He was released on bail of NT$300,000; his wife and the others posted smaller amounts.
