With 100 days to go until Taiwan's 2026 local elections, former President Tsai Ing-wen has stepped forward to campaign for Su Chiao-hui, the Democratic Progressive Party's candidate for mayor of New Taipei, marking a significant mobilisation by the green camp in a constituency long dominated by the blue camp.

• Tsai Ing-wen has taken up the post of chair of Su Chiao-hui's campaign headquarters, publicly calling for her to become New Taipei's first female mayor.
