Taitung old-home renovation subsidy opens, applications close November 13
Taitung County is handing out NT$30.3 million to help owners of aging homes pay for repairs, good news for people living in buildings over 30 years old.
- The money comes from a national program to fix up old apartments and townhouses and make them safer to live in.
- Homes qualify if they are at least 30 years old, legally registered, and no taller than six floors.
- Grants cover outside safety work and inside improvements, including barrier-free access for older or disabled residents.
- Applying is not first-come, first-served — everything gets reviewed together after the November 13 deadline.
- If requests add up to more than the budget, the county will rank applications and fund them in order.
Outlook: Expect demand to exceed the money available, so not every approved application will get the full amount asked for.
