A commercial tractor-trailer skidded out of control on a rain-slicked road in Tainan's Yongkang District early this morning, but nobody was hurt.

• The truck was heading south on Yong'an Road around 6am when it lost grip on the wet surface.
• It hit a lamp post on the center divider, crossed into oncoming lanes, and struck another post before stopping.
• The front of the truck was badly wrecked and the vehicle ended up blocking the road sideways.
• Rush hour had not started, traffic was light, and no oncoming cars were passing — the driver had not been drinking.

Outlook: Police are urging drivers to slow down and leave more braking distance while the wet weather continues.
