Three Hawaiʻi women are preparing to compete on national and international pageant stages, a point of pride for the islands' large Filipino community.

• Lani Martin will represent Hawaiʻi at Miss Universe Philippines, the fourth year the islands have sent a contestant.
• Faith Van holds the Miss World Philippines Hawaiʻi title and is campaigning on education and women's empowerment.
• Cecilia will compete at Face of Beauty International in Taiwan in October, the third Hawaiʻi representative to do so.
• All three point to the support and sisterhood inside the local pageant organization, now in its second and fourth years for different titles.

Outlook: The Taiwan competition comes first in October, with the Philippines trips following in late January and February.
