Ko Chih-en reposts thank-you video from four years ago as Kaohsiung mayoral race hits 100-day countdown
Kuomintang Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Ko Chih-en has reposted a video from four years ago in which she thanked supporters after losing that election, using it to build momentum as the campaign enters its final 100 days — a call to turn out the vote for Blue camp supporters, and a source of pressure for the governing Democratic Progressive Party.
- Ko Chih-en revisited the promise she made after her defeat four years ago to "repay Kaohsiung with the rest of my life," saying she has never forgotten it.
- She stressed that she has lived in Kaohsiung over these four years and travelled through all 38 districts, rebutting suggestions that she only talks about putting down roots at election time.
- With 100 days left before the vote, she framed this period as "the final sprint to change Kaohsiung."
- She said she is running not to prove herself, but to prove that Kaohsiung deserves better, with the goal of "winning Kaohsiung back."
Outlook: Over the next 100 days, the Kaohsiung race will move into a phase of intensive mobilisation and get-out-the-vote efforts, and the Blue-Green confrontation will become more pronounced.
