A hiker who fell ill high on Wangya Mountain in Nantou County was lifted out by air and taken to hospital, a good outcome in a case that could easily have gone badly.

• A Black Hawk helicopter from the National Airborne Service Corps flew from Ching Chuan Kang airbase early in the morning and hoisted him up.
