Taiwan People's Party support falls to 6.3% in new poll
The small Taiwan People's Party has sunk to its lowest support level in almost two years, a bad sign for the party and its leader Huang Kuo-chang.
- A new poll puts the party at 6.3%, down more than four points from the last one.
- That is its weakest showing since October 2024, when former leader Ko Wen-je was jailed over a corruption case.
- Support has slid steadily since Huang took over as chairman, and critics online are blaming him directly.
- The ruling DPP leads with about 35%, the KMT sits near 19%.
- All three parties lost ground, while the share of people backing no party at all rose to about 36%.
Outlook: With voters drifting away from every party, the TPP risks slipping further toward irrelevance unless it can reverse the trend before the next election cycle.
