A four-car chain collision on the freeway near the Taipei–Sanchong border left no one hurt, a rare good outcome for a crash violent enough to spin one vehicle around.

• A woman driving south hit an SUV in front of her when traffic backed up, then two more small trucks were caught in the pileup.
• One car was struck so hard it spun 180 degrees and ended up facing the wrong way in the lane.
• Everyone in all four vehicles was wearing a seat belt, and every driver blew zero on the breathalyzer.
• The crash jammed traffic behind it for about an hour before the scene was cleared.

Outlook: Police are still working out the exact cause, and highway patrol is urging drivers to keep more distance and switch on hazard lights when traffic stalls.
