Woman reports being followed and filmed at Kaohsiung's Pier-2 Art Center
A woman in Kaohsiung says a man has repeatedly followed and filmed her at the Pier-2 Art Center, and police are now handling it as a stalking case.
- She first noticed the man at weekend markets at Pier-2 last year, where he would stay near her and film her with his phone.
- She was too scared to ask anyone for help at the time, and ran into him again this week after months without seeing him.
- This time she filmed him back and posted the clip online to warn others, saying she doubted police could do much about being filmed in a public place.
- Commenters urged her to report it, and she went to police overnight; the Yancheng precinct took the case under Taiwan's anti-stalking law.
Outlook: Police will summon the man for questioning, and the case will test how far the stalking law reaches when the behavior happens in public spaces.
