Democratic Progressive Party Taipei mayoral candidate Puma Shen canvassed for votes at the Ningxia Night Market in Taipei's Datong District, drawing crowds so dense he could barely move — good news for the Green camp's campaign prospects.

• Even on a weekday evening, hundreds of people turned out to wait for him, with the queue stretching from across the road all the way to the night market entrance.
• Supporters made their own "Shen current" promotional materials, gave him zongzi as a wish for electoral success, and asked him to sign their bankbooks and wallets.
• Two or three months ago, when he came here for a late-night snack, he had hoped more passers-by would greet him; this time the difference was clear.
• The Blue camp has decided to allocate votes across all districts for the Taipei City Council race, while the Green camp is taking a joint campaign approach.

Outlook: Shen will continue to campaign alongside Yen Jo-fang, Lin Liang-chun, Lin Tzu-yang and Lai Chun-han to drive turnout, aiming to win all four of the party's city council nominations.
