New Taipei... no — Hsinchu County expands senior and disability care card benefits from October
Hsinchu County is doubling the monthly credits on its senior and disability care cards, good news for older residents and people with disabilities who rely on subsidized transport and medical services.
- Monthly credits on the senior card and love-heart care card jump from 500 points to 1,000 points starting October 1.
- Credits can also be used for long-term care shuttle rides, with no cap per trip and both co-pays and out-of-pocket fees covered.
- From December 1, the credits stretch further — clinic registration fees, farmers' association purchases, and partner pharmacies.
- Eligibility stays the same: residents aged 65 and up, or 55 and up for Indigenous residents; the first card is free.
Outlook: Existing cardholders need no action as long as their residency stays in the county, and the wider spending options land in December.
