A new art-themed jet from Taiwan's Starlux Airlines has arrived, a neutral business-and-culture story ahead of its first flights this week.

• Starlux's second Airbus A350-1000 painted by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, called "Airsorayama Gold," landed in Taoyuan on Sunday.
• It enters service Thursday on the Taipei–Tokyo (Narita) route, then joins the Taipei–Bangkok route from Aug. 26 as a limited-time art flight.
• Both Sorayama jets, gold and silver, will be parked side by side at Narita so the artist can see them together.
• Starlux's fleet has grown to 36 planes, with the long-range A350-1000 central to its plans for more long-haul routes.

Outlook: The gold jet begins commercial flights this week as Starlux keeps expanding its widebody, long-haul network.
