A local cultural exhibition in Pingtung is celebrating Donggang's centuries-old temple heritage, a positive spotlight on Taiwan's folk traditions.

• The King Boat Culture Museum opened its fourth themed show, "Tianbao," honoring the Dingzhong Street neighborhood and its rare temple that houses three separate shrine names in one building.
• The star piece is a sacred palanquin that just turned 114 years old, treated as a living relic of the town's worship tradition.
• The opening featured a welcoming ceremony and a traditional "Shijiajiang" spirit-guard performance, recreating the atmosphere of Donggang's famous King Boat festival.
• County Magistrate Chou Chun-mi toured the artifacts guided by local folklore expert Kao Jen-huang, who has spent years collecting and documenting the eight-day festival's rituals.
• The museum has drawn more than 1.8 million visitors since opening, with each of its seven neighborhood-themed shows running about three months.
