A pair of siblings serving in Taiwan's Matsu Coast Guard both passed the same competitive marine police exam, a feel-good win for the unit and their family.

• Brother Chang Yu-cheng and sister Chang Ju-yu, both Coast Guard members based in Matsu, passed the 2026 grade-three marine police special exam together.
• The two grew up in Changhua, went through police vocational school, and supported each other from their school days through years on the job.
• Their father is also a police officer, still serving at a station under the Lukang precinct, so the family carries the badge into a second generation.
• They studied for the exam on days off and after heavy Coast Guard shifts, pushing each other to keep going despite the strain.

Outlook: Both plan to move up into higher-level police roles while continuing to guard Taiwan's maritime borders.
