The race for Taichung mayor has entered its positioning phase, with Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate Ho Hsin-chun taking an active stance by finalizing the dates for her registration and the opening of her campaign headquarters.

• With just over three months left before polling day in the year-end nine-in-one elections, the Taichung Election Commission will accept candidate registrations from August 31 to September 4.
• Ho Hsin-chun plans to register on September 2, and DPP city councillor candidates will accompany her to register together, demonstrating unity within the party.
• The campaign headquarters will be located in a vacant building on Section 2 of Wuquan West Road, situated between Longfu Road and Yifeng Road; after renovations, it will open on September 12.
• With polling day approaching, mayoral candidates from all parties are scrambling to find open lots with parking and ample space to hold rallies, but such sites are hard to come by in the urban area.
