Tainan has launched an immersive folk-culture exhibition that uses interactive missions to turn traditional festivals into a cultural experience anyone can play with and understand — good news for those wanting to learn about Taiwanese faith and belief.

• The 2026 Tainan City Intangible Cultural Heritage Special Exhibition "Support Needed: Soul Collection" has opened at the Tainan Cultural Center and runs until September 27.
• The theme is the belief in souls and spirits and its ritual ceremonies, aiming to show people that festivals are more than just "worship."
• The exhibition space is built around the concept of a "Little Spirits Support Center," designing 10 interactive missions to replace traditional static displays.
• It highlights representative folk customs such as the Anping City God Temple's communal offering ceremony, the Xigang pilgrimage, and the Jibeishua drum-and-gong rites, drawing out the local knowledge behind these festivals.
