• Hsiao Bi-khim inspected the widening project on the Provincial Highway 9 Hualien-Taitung Scenic Boulevard, along with the construction progress of the Yuli Bridge and the Nantong-to-Dongli section.
• The focus was on the technological disaster-mitigation and occupational safety measures at the worksites, with the goal of reducing construction accidents and protecting workers.
• Director-General of the Directorate General of Highways Lin Fu-shan gave a briefing on the overall safe scenic boulevard plan, and explained the engineering features and challenges of the Yuli Bridge.
• The government used the occasion to affirm its investment in infrastructure in Hualien and Taitung, aiming to improve the long-underdeveloped transport and road quality in the east.
