Taipei's Dadaocheng Summer Festival came to a successful close on the eve of Qixi, with the fireworks and drone show on the final night drawing more than 140,000 people.

• This was the first time the event combined a drone performance, with the drones forming Spider-Man, Bear Zan, a large heart, and Qixi blessing messages.
• The site was packed, and by nearly 7 p.m. the wharf and the riverside park were already jammed to bursting, with not a spot to spare.
• Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an said the crowds grow year by year, and the city government comes up with new ideas every year.
• Audience response was enthusiastic, with the only minor complaint being that it was hard to guess the direction in which the fireworks would be launched.
