Dadaocheng Summer Festival Closes with Fireworks and Drones Sharing the Stage
Taipei's Dadaocheng Summer Festival came to a successful close on the eve of Qixi, with the fireworks and drone show on the final night drawing more than 140,000 people.
- An 8-minute themed fireworks show paired with a drone light show, running 20 minutes in total, began at 8 p.m.
- This was the first time the event combined a drone performance, with the drones forming Spider-Man, Bear Zan, a large heart, and Qixi blessing messages.
- The site was packed, and by nearly 7 p.m. the wharf and the riverside park were already jammed to bursting, with not a spot to spare.
- Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an said the crowds grow year by year, and the city government comes up with new ideas every year.
- Audience response was enthusiastic, with the only minor complaint being that it was hard to guess the direction in which the fireworks would be launched.
Outlook: Traffic controls were lifted at 9:22 p.m. and the crowds dispersed smoothly, bringing this year's Summer Festival to a close.
