Taiwan closes Danjiang Bridge for Tamsui fireworks on next three Sundays
New Taipei will shut roads and part of the Danjiang Bridge for a fireworks festival, so expect travel disruptions in Tamsui through the end of August.
- The Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf festival runs fireworks at 8 p.m. on Aug. 16, 23 and 30.
- Roads near the wharf and the bridge's seaward walkway become pedestrian-only from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and heavy trucks are banned from noon.
- Drivers can only enter through the wharf's second entrance, and access stops once parking fills up.
- YouBike rentals are suspended from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at five nearby stations, and the Red 26 bus is rerouted through Tamsui Bus Station.
Outlook: Visitors should plan to walk or take the MRT shuttle, which runs one-way out of Tamsui after the show ends.
