• Winners ran on kitchen-table issues — child care, a wealth tax, Medicare for All — not the "defund police" positions their opponents attacked.
• In Wisconsin, DSA-backed Francesca Hong lost the governor's primary by a hair, hurt by the sitting governor's rival endorsement and no backing from AOC or Bernie Sanders.

Outlook: The fight between progressives and the party establishment is set to peak in the 2028 presidential primary.
